GIFT GIVING!

The polvoron was a success alright. But I had a change of heart. The original plan was the hubs would bake some homemade cookies then at the last minute I decided I wanted to make polvoron to go along with the hubs cookies. I just thought it would be nice to have just a slight touch of home ( Philippines). If you know what I mean. :) ( Since I know how my FILIPINO friends love it as PASALUBONG. So I said why not?) The hubs liked it and surprisingly AJ loved it too. To tell you the truth I was surprised too since she's not too fond with these kind of sweets. She'd prefer fruits instead. -hahaha- I'm so glad she liked it. She actually ate it with GUSTO.

Polvoron is actually really easy to make. No sweat if you didn't have crazy ideas like mine... to make the story short holiday cookie cutters didn't work with the polvoron if only I had the proper tools (polvoron press). With the polvoron press it should have been a breeze but that's not the case so I had to improvise. Lets just say I'm going to make this again ONLY IF AJ requests. -haha-

Anyways, I made a small batch then divided it to two flavors. The regular plain flavor and Cookies n cream. The hubs liked the plain one while the little one preferred the cookies n cream. I liked them both if you bother to ask me. ;)

So we went with the original plan and actually distributed the first batch the hubs made during a x-mas get together at one of our friends house. We still have to do the second batch though. Homemade cookies makes a great gift. Not only are they delicious but its a treat your friends get to enjoy. It also means you made great effort of your TIME and LOVE. Isn't that a great feeling?

Tips to make a beautiful package!

* I used TIN CANS
* You can wrap them in an attractive box and basket
* How about the Chinese box take out. That would be great too. (Undo the artsy side of you) :)
* You can place them in a decorative plate.
* You can use different sizes of plastic bags per piece or more in one package, just add ribbons. VOILA!

Continuation....

Since it's the holiday season I think its okay to indulge your kids just as long as you have the extra money to spend. Anyways, this is AJ's favorite time of the year second only to her birthday. I mentioned that she is going to get the DORA Wii Game and that would be from SANTA. But AJ had a change of heart. Its pretty amazing how kids can change their mind so quickly. Now, she's asking for a ROBOT. The AUTOBOTS and she prefers BUMBLEBEE! You may ask why? (I thought of that too hehe...) Well according to AJ, he's cool, funny and he turns into a car. Good thing we can still return the game. So the hubs went out to scout for the BUMBLEBEE ROBOT and got her two. (A small one that turns into a car and a big one that can talk since she also requested for a talking one at the last minute). We were lucky enough to get her the Robot and couldn't wait to see her reaction since she said it would really make her happy if she got one. -haha- It so cute how kids think! We couldn't resist to get her the Barbie DVD: MARIPOSA, Disney DVD: CARS (Blu-ray), A Nintendo DS Game: BUILD A BEAR (We know how much she loves playing dress-up) then a HELLO KITTY MAKE_UP SET and more RING POP CANDIES. YUP! We spoil her rotten! (OK. Maybe sometimes!) I call this a FIRST and only CHILD SYNDROME -HAHA- Oh! Let's not even discuss how many dresses she wants to wear this holiday with matching shoes harhar...

WHAT I LEARNED AND STILL LEARNING BEING A MOM!

Its true that kids grow fast. My advice is to make time with the kids while you still can. So the hubs and I fully indulge and enjoy every moment with our precious little Princess. If your kids wants to shower you with hugs and kisses let them. Soon they wouldn't want to give you any. 2 years ago AJ told us not to call her a baby anymore. She was only 3 at the time. Hay! *Big Sigh*

Warning! Never say anything in front of your kids that you don't want repeated. And believe me! Sugar really does make kids go crazy- Avoid it! Little treats are fine. Just don't over do it. Some kids have no idea where money comes from and they don't care. LOL! AJ once asked me for some money for a ride in one of those that you put quarters on. I told her I didn't have any. (I don't want to give her the impression that whenever she asks I would give). I was hoping she would let it pass Oh Boy! I was wrong and got shocked when she said this:

AJ: Mommy, why can't we just use your card?

I'm like...WHAT??? Nyahahaha.... Geez! I can't blame her. She is used to seeing me pay with my card and seldom use cash.

I will say this again, being a parent can be so rewarding but it sucks to be one sometimes. There are times that we need to say NO! I know it sounds cruel but bear this in mind, we noticed that the more we give, the more AJ expects. I admit the hubs and I over indulge AJ most of the time with just about anything. (Yeah, were guilty!) But just because we can afford it doesn't mean we should always give in to whatever her hearts desire. We don't want to create a monster, do we now? So saying NO sometimes is OKAY.

BUT, (Yup! I know you read it right there is a but hahaha....)

To be continued.....

Too many plans not enough time...and MY LOVE AFFAIR with....

I just realized that we traveled a lot this year. Went home to the Philippines for a 3 month vacation. Then we sailed to the Carribean "Bahamas" on August. We had more than our usual share of road trips in the past few months ( Virginia, South Carolina, Florida, side Food trip to Georgia then back again to Virginia last month and sent 2 Balikbayan Box for the family in time for X-mas). Which means we ended up using a chunk of our savings way more that we would have expected. The reason why the hubs is against the travel to Florida this month :( since we need to set aside a decent amount of money to enjoy this trip.

I don't know about you, but I hate the idea of going on a vacation on a tight budget. How can anyone enjoy the travel when all you can think of is: this is too much or I just can't afford this. It just kills whatever excitement I've been feeling to tell you quite frankly. ( The reason why you need to PLAN AHEAD, to avoid feeling GUILTY). I think its okay to go all out if you have extra money. But if you don't have anything to fall back on in times of Emergency because you spend all your fortune to traveling, then that's a different story. You can't blame anybody but YOURSELF. If you choose too travel, Enjoy and have the best time of your life, smart enough to think for your future and would still love to enjoy life with a little vacation here and there. then go for it. I would say GOOD FOR YOU! This is just a matter of choice. (Right?)

So it got me thinking If everything goes as planned maybe we could still travel. I can utilize our timeshare points. Hay! Too many plans not much time and importantly not enough money.

MY LOVE AFFAIR WITH THE SALAD MASTER

I completely forgot besides traveling we also invested quite a lot of money on a new cooking ware that I got last month which is the Salad Master. If you've heard about Salad Master you'll know what I'm talking about. ( http://www.saladmaster.com/index.nws)

So I may miss the fun of traveling but you know what I wouldn't trade the good benefits we are getting right now with the Salad Master. It's just simply AMAZING! The hubs doesn't mind me having an affair with my new found love. (I'm in the mood for cooking:) YAY! ) Just as I don't mind him falling in love with his new toy (SONY 52" Bravia LCD HDTV)hehehe... Although I can't believe what the hubs said about the TV " That it was a love at first sight " SYET NA MALAGKET! GANON? MAY GANONG FACTOR? HAHAHA...

Who could resist a freshly HOMEMADE POLVORON?

For some strange reason I've been wanting to make a homemade POLVORON to give away to PINOY Friends this holiday. But instead of the usual round or oval shape I'd like to use a x-mas cookie cutter. I'm determined to make this so I rummaged through our pantry to gather all the ingredients but unfortunately I don't have all the things I need. Bummer! I have to go to the grocery store to get the powdered milk tomorrow so I can start. I'm excited! Wish me luck! Sana hindi pumalpak! (This would be my first kasi. -hehe-) If this is not going to work, then I'll just make YEMA. I'm confident to say I make mean YEMA! Well I have received a very good feedback from the hubs that the recipe for my YEMA is a keeper. (Oh! Did I tell you he's my number one fan. ahihi...)

Whats Cooki'n?

COOKING EXPERIMENT

I had a bag of spinach that is about to expire and I don't want to put it to waste. I had leftover mushroom from the pizza we made last Friday. Then I had leftover lechon Kawali from last week. (TIP: You could put any leftover meat in the freezer for future use in time like these) This was actually just an experiment and I'm happy to say it turned out good. The hubs and I liked it. We both agree that the lechon kawali made it good. YUM!!! ( I just add oil to coat the pan, sauteed the diced onion, then the mushroom, after that add the Lechon K and then the spinach to taste add salt...EASY PEASY!) AJ didn't want it so she had the baked cod fish. Pardon the pix for the fish. I know it doesn't look appetizing but my AJ loved it. She actually ate most of it. -hihi-

I also cooked Pinakbet with the leftover Lechon Kawali. I've been cooking this for a long time so this is not an experiment. My AJ and the hubs loved it as always wehehe...

And here is the pix of the pizza we made. One thing is for sure its good!

SCHOOL NOTE!!!

'Tis the season of sickness whether we like it or not. Since AJ is in kindergarten now, she's prone to getting sick even with all the proper hygiene. She missed 2 days of school due to high fever, cough and colds. We were asked to give the school a written note why she missed school. So the hubs searched for a format on how to write one. And here's what he found. I couldn't resist to post these samples parents had done. Read it and you be the judge. All I can say is I had a GOOD LAUGH!

These are excuse notes from parents (including original spelling) collected by schools from all over the country. From Buzzle.com

1. My son is under a doctor’s care and should not take P.E. today. Please execute him.

Her sister was also sick, fever and sore throat, her brother had a low grade fever and ached all over. I wasn’t the best either, sore throat and fever. There must be something going around, her father even got hot last night.

24. Please excuse little Jimmy for not being in school yesterday.

His father is gone and I could not get him ready because I was in bed with the doctor.

Have a HAPPY WEEKEND Y'ALL!!!

Ready For The Holidays!!!

Normally, we would set up our Christmas tree after Thanksgiving. But we decided to put it up early this year. For this year's theme I chose GOLD and the BEANNIE BABIES. I think it looks adorable. I'm even done wrapping all the kids gift including AJ's , the nephews, Godchildren, family friends kids. Oh! Even AJ's Kindergarten and Ballet teachers. Now I can start shopping for the hubs all I need is his wish list. He's the hardest one to get a gift since he could be too picky. If only he was into Men's Jewelry then it shouldn't be a problem but he's not. Grrr!!! So to make my life easier I will just wait for his list and then I'll just threw in a few surprises to make it mine. (Para naman may originality) hahaha...

Anyways, we got AJ the Nintendo Wii Active Life Outdoor Challenge Game and the Nintendo Wii Dora the Explorer: Dora Saves the Snow Princess Game. And as a BONUS I am surprising her with a basket filled with her favorite candies. The RING POPS and the BOTTLE CANDIES. I only spent 20 bucks for this treat. I can't wait to see her reaction when she opens it. I hope to get it on video though. This would be fun. I'm thrilled!

Oh! Thanks to my Sister Jam for the early Christmas present. You made AJ really happy. She is too excited and wants to open it already. hahaha... I Love You Sis!

TWILIGHT DATE WITH THE HUBS

Tuesday

Don't worry no SPOILER HERE.

I started getting ready at 9:30am thinking we would be out at 10:30 but actually finished at 11:30 and got to the mall close to 12 noon. Hahaha... GOSH! It took me 2 freaking hours to get ready for this date with the hubs. (Feeling dalaga ako dito ah! SYET! Sobrang Excited bwahaha!) Went to pick to up some Freebies from HELZBERG DIAMOND and VICTORIA's SECRET first then lingered a little bit to check out what I would like SANTA to give me. WINK! Yeah, I know! I am a sucker for freebies! It's like getting an early presents I tell you. (I had to blog this sometime ahihi)

Anyway, after I got my freebies I wanted to eat at TWISTED FORK but the hubs reminded me that we had a movie to catch. Since there was not enough time I had to settle for Chinese food from the food court. (Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with the food from the food court. It's just that I wanted to eat at a very nice restaurant today since I tried to dress the part. Isn't that why it took me so long? (I told you I'm too excited. Too Bad!)But I still had a good time. The hubs took off from work Monday to Wednesday since Thursday and Friday is Thanksgiving Holiday. (I'm excited about the after Thanksgiving sale by the way nyehehe...) A week off from work... The hubs was very happy. We had good times to ourselves Monday and Tuesday. What a nice break from our daily routine. Aj was in school just in case you were wondering. :)

Next time I'll know better when the hubs ask me out again. SYET! Excited hahaha... Now I wonder when our next date is going to happen. BLEH!!! Now back to the movie... Are you a sucker for ROMANCE MOVIES? Go and see the TWILIGHT MOVIE. KIKILIGIN kayo ng TODO TODO. PRAMIS! AYLAVIT!!! I so HEART EDWARD! Muah!

AJ: I didn't do that on purpose. It just happened. Sorry Daddy!

Hahaha... I just thought it was funny.

TRICK or TREAT Smell my FEET! Ahihi...

A BULLY!!!

This happened the 2nd week after school started in September. I never thought I would post it so I didn’t bother remembering. Here’s a conversation with my AJ about a boy named Txxx who in some way bothers her too much. I wanted to handle the issue my way because frankly Txxx was also getting in my nerves. He bothered me so much that I wanted to punch him. (Sshh!!! Of course I won’t, silly! He’s just a kid!) This is where it all started and from then on the teasing hasn’t stopped. This has been bothering and continue to annoy AJ a lot.

MONDAY
AJ: I had fun in the playground today Mom.
MOM: Good for you, babe!

TUESDAY
AJ: I had fun in the playground today. But it’s so hot I had to stay in the shade. It cools me down.
MOM: Yeah, It’s a bit hot today!
AJ: Mom, I have a new friend, Exxx. He is my friend. I like him a lot. I gave him a hugs and a lot of kisses.
MOM: So a new friend? Huh! Good for you!

AJ nodding her head and smiling and it seems that she really like this boy a lot. You’ll see why, she talks about him non-stop.

WEDNESDAY
AJ: Mom, I had lots of fun today. Exxx and I played together and during nap time he slept beside me.
MOM: That’s good! So this Exxx, is he nice?
AJ: Yeah! I like him a lot.

THURSDAY

AJ: MOM, I had fun today. We played in the playground.
MOM: That’s good! How is Exxx?
AJ: My teacher said Exxx and I should separate during our naptime.
MOM: Oh! Why? Did the teacher get mad at you or Exxx?
AJ: No! Exxx just wasn’t listening. But he didn’t get a time out.
Mom: Oh really! Next time tell Exxx to listen to your teacher, ok.
AJ: OK!

FRIDAY

She was very upset that I had to ask her, how her day was. If you notice she would always greet me with her “I had a good day….line”). But today it was different and I could see it in her face that she wasn’t happy at all.

AJ: Mom, I’m confused.
MOM: Why are you confused, babe?
AJ: This boy in my class, his name is, Txxx.
MOM: What about Txxx?
AJ: He says Exxx is my BOYFRIEND. I kept telling him Exxx is just my friend but, he kept on saying he is my boyfriend. HMPPP! I don’t care about Txxx. I don’t like him. Hmmmp!!!

It must have been very hard for my AJ to understand why this boy would say such a thing. Understand this, AJ doesn’t have any MALICE YET. She was not exposed to this kind of stuff. And for her to feel this way hurts me too. I know kids will be kids but this boy is just way out of line. I had to ask the hub to have a talk w/ her teacher since this boy can be too much for AJ to handle. He loves to tease AJ a lot. He even said one time to AJ “I’m KEEPING AN EYE ON YOU!” Can you believe a 5 year old would say that?

The teacher had a talk with Txxx. He even apologized to AJ and we thought that would be the end of it. Wrong! (Masyadong kulang sa pansin ito grabeee…minsan gusto ko nang kausapin at bungangahan hahaha…but we let AJ do her thing and handle him on her own.) I realize I wouldn’t be there all the times to rescue her if there is a bully who comes along. (I learned from AJ's teacher, Mrs. Sxxx, that this boy can be a handful at times.) I see! So we told AJ to just ignore him and if he stills bother her to tell him “STOP IT! I DON’T LIKE THAT!” (With a serious look and a firm voice). If you’ll meet my AJ, your first impression would be that SHE IS SO SWEET. Yeah! She is such a sweet kid. She loves to hug and kiss. She loves to draw, make art works and give it to whoever is sick or got hurt or sad. AJ must have played with Exxx all the times that Txxx felt nobody wanted to play with him. So I told her that Txxx might like to play with her too. (She doesn’t want to play with him. She’d rather play with Exxx more. She doesn’t understand why she needed to play with Txxx when in fact she’s enjoying Exxx’s company.) But being the nice girl that she is, she told me she would start playing with him more and she did. At one time Txxx didn’t have any partner for reading and you know what she did? She asked the teacher if he could join her and Axxx, one of her classmates (AJ’s reading partner). The teacher told us about this when we had a teacher’s conference/evaluation of how AJ was doing for the first quarter. The teacher even praised her and told her that she was so nice about including Txxx in the group! Awww! I felt so proud! But sad to say this boy lacks attention. Oh well!... Txxx still bothers AJ but she’s getting there. She’s trying really hard not to let him get on her nerves. Way to go BABE! By the way the teacher praises AJ for doing so well in school and even said that she’s beyond some of her classmates. I’m proud to say that before school started she was able to learn to write and spell her Name, middle name and her Last name which is Alexis Jade- G---b A----------n (MN-5 letters LN is 12 letters) and she can count and write 1-100. I know I may sound like I’m bragging but who cares. She’s my pride and joy anyway (aren’t all parents like that? Ahihi…) BLEH!

DON’T YOU JUST WISH MONEY GROWS ON TREES…

I had to drop off AJ at school 2 weeks ago (Wednesday) because the hubs had an early meeting. For your info AJ is in Kindergarten, she’s 5. We’re almost 1 mile away from AJ’s school when I hit something and then the car started to sound strange. AJ was like (Mommy, what’s that sound?) The more I hit the accelerator, the more it sounds different. Oh please! Just let me bring my AJ to school safe then I will deal with you later. Promise! (I was talking like crazy to my car) Still wondering what the sound was. (I don’t know anything about cars I just drive them Ehehe…. Sad I know) Tsk!!! We reached the school safe. The Bell rang. (DARN! We’re late!) Dropped AJ to her class.

I went back to the car. DANG! MY TIRE’S FLAT!(GREAT!)I saw a big hole from the side of the tire and when I say big I really mean big. What the hell? What did I just hit? Up to now I still keep wondering. I had to call the hubs since I didn’t know what to do. When he got there he told me he had to change the tire. I’m like Huh!? Kaya mo ba? Sigurado ka? The hubs “ Oo naman. Anong akala mo sa akin? Oh Well! I should have known better. Of course he can do it. After all he’s a JACK-OF-ALL-TRADE kind of guy and I’m proud to say he’s my man. Wink!

We had to bring the car to the SEARS Auto shop instead of FORD since they can be really too busy there most of the time. The hubs needed to go back to the office for an afternoon meeting. They checked the car but unfortunately the tire couldn’t be salvaged. It had to be replaced. (I had the car for more than 2 years now; the hubs got his 10 yrs ago but never had a flat tire ever…Ang swerte ko naman!) We both have Ford Explorer. His might be old but it still works just fine. Sabi nga ni LABS swertehan lang daw yun. The funny thing is I tried so hard not to shop for a couple of weeks and then BAM! An Unexpected Expense! Geez Louise! Don’t you just hate it? Then at the mall I lost the other pair of my favorite gold earrings. Then last week we left a bag of Bounty Tissue Paper at a parking lot. Yeah! Talk about trying to save. Tsk! What Unfortunate Incidents. I hope LUCK would be on my side very soon and for the rest of the year. I’m crossing my fingers.

Worried about her Hairstyle….

AJ got stung by a bee in the school playground so the hubs went to pick her up early. We were so glad that she didn’t have any allergic reaction. At night, AJ asked her Dad if we could change her hairstyle. The hubs couldn’t get it at first so he asked her again.

AJ: Daddy, Can you tell Mommy to change my hairstyle?
DADDY: Huh! Why?
AJ: So the bee won’t recognize me. I don’t want to get stung again. (I can’t help myself but to laugh out loud)

Wawa naman si AJ... LINTIK NA BUBUYOG KASI YAN! Ehehe...

AJ's love for EGG DROP SOUP!

Simple foods are still the best. Though, sometimes we forget. Tonight we had boiled eggs with tomatoes and onions. Note to self: I should make this more often. It is easy on the budget, good and easy to prepare too. As per AJ’s request, the hubs made some egg drop soup just for her. (Wow! Meal of the day is about Eggs ahihi…) To AJ’s delight, she told us it’s okay not to go to Chinese restaurants anymore since her Dad promised to make her soup whenever she wants it. (The egg drop soup is the reason why she loves Chinese restaurants so much… hahaha ang babaw ng anak ko. We love Grand Asia Buffet the best.) Well that sounds good since we could save $40 a week for that. Hubs challenged me if I could do it since he knows I love eating there at least once a week. The best time is Sunday all of my favorites are there. Nyahaha… we’ll see, we’ll see. Then he teased me “I’ll make you dessert”. Okay how about once a month that sounds fair right and I will still get my dessert. (Right Labs?) Muahhh!!! Ahahaha... Dear hubs made one of my favorite desserts today which is Peach Mango Cobbler. Uhmmm…Yum!!!

Once again...here is my AJ!

AJ: What day is today?
Dad n Mom: Sunday.
AJ: Tomorrow’s Monday? Daddy needs to go to work tomorrow?
Dad: Yeah! I have to work tomorrow.
AJ: Why? DID WE RUN OUT OF MONEY OR SOMETHING?

Nyahahaha…. (She once asked us why we needed to work. We basically told her that we need to earn money so we can buy anything she asked for. Warning! Kids are very smart these days so be careful on what you say or it will haunt you later).

BEAUTIFUL ORLANDO!!!

ORLANDO FLORIDA is known as the SUNSHINE STATE but unfortunately during our stay it was SUNLESS –haha- because of Tropical Storm FAY. She just wouldn’t go away! Gosh! Despite the heavy rain we still managed to have fun and enjoy the rest of our stay. This is our 4th time in ORLANDO. Why do we keep going back to Orlando one might ask? Here, let me count the ways:

1. Nothing compares when you join the throngs of visitors from all over the world navigating the hustle and bustle of International Drive. Rain or Shine! Ehehe… It brings out the friendliness in you. Hello you! Hi there Matey! Como Esta? How you Doing? Kumusta Kabayan? Ok, before I get out of control here, you know where I’m going right?
2. SIZZLIN GRILL RESTAURANT- You’re in for a treat because this is a buffet. For $3.79 per person how can anyone beat that? Yup, they offer the lowest price among any other breakfast buffet restaurant in the area. AJ even got hers for free. So I’m thinking 5 and below eat free. But beverage, tax and gratuity are not included, just so you know. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and we need to be fueled up to have the energy for the day. Isn’t this a great economical choice? If you want volume and variety I suggest you go for buffets. You can keep coming back until you can eat no more. BURPPP!!! Excuse me!
3. New Dining Experience at EMERIL LAGASSE’s Restaurant. This Restaurant is in Universal City Walk Orlando- It’s cozy. Has good ambience. Good Food and the service is TOP NOTCH. I highly recommend you try it if you are in the area. SUPERB! Mr. EMERILL LAGASSE is a TV Super Chef and you can watch some of his shows in the Food Network. I made the reservation online for dear Hubs Birthday Celebration and it wasn’t hard to get a seat.
4. Another treat is when you venture out for another dinner in Orlando. Try ANGEL LOBSTER and Seafood Buffet Restaurant. What a Delight! For $36.95 per person and $8.95 for kids w/o the lobster. Don’t worry. AJ didn’t mind as long as she had ice cream for dessert, she’s happy. Note: Ask your server about the ice cream. They don’t normally put it outside; it doesn’t hurt if you ask? Right? (Beverage, Tax and Gratuity not included) Worth every penny I promise! Your palette will be tickled exactly the way you like it. GO AHEAD STUFF YOURSELVES with ALL YOU CAN EAT LOBSTER! “Why oh why can’t we have a LOBSTER BUFFET here in RALEIGH?”
5. There’s a lot to see in UNIVERSAL STUDIOS and ISLAND ADVENTURE. Surprisingly we loved it there even if it “rained Cats and Dogs”. We didn’t mind and didn’t miss the SUN at all. Take advantage of their MEAL DEAL. They have a nice selection of food. EAT ALL U CAN ALL DAY! AJ had a blast with BARNEY and had fun with JIMMY NEUTRON. She even enjoyed the ride with SPIDERMAN and WOODY WOODPECKER.
6. Spend your entire day chasing BARGAINS GALORE at the Outlets. My two favorites are ORLANDO PREMIUM OUTLET and PRIME OUTLETS.

Orlando Premium Outlet- Experience Orlando’s only True upscale outlet center and feel the thrill of finding the world’s finest designer labels for less. My favorite stores are: CHRISTIAN DIOR, FENDI, BURBERRY, GIORGIO ARMANI, ARMANI XCHANGE, LACOSTE, MOVADO, and BARNEYS OUTLET. You can even print coupons to save even more. Check www.premiumoutlets.com.

Prime Outlets- The largest outlet mall… I could get lost here…hehe… My favorite stores are: KATE SPADE, BURBERRY, MICHAEL KORS, SAKS FIFTH OFF 5TH, JUICY COUTURE, COACH, DOONEY N BOURKE, and NEIMAN MARCUS OUTLET. Again check for coupons at their website www.primeoutlets.com. You can purchase different brands that you like with a fraction of the cost. HAPPY HUNTING!

7.If Money is not an issue? Head to an UPSCALE MALL and visit the FLORIDA MALL or MALL AT MILLENIA. This luxurious Mall features anchor BLOOMINGDALES and NEIMAN MARCUS. High end specialty shops not to miss are LOUIS VUITTON, CHANEL, CARTIER, GUCCI, ZARA and TIFFANY AND CO. Shop ‘til you Drop to your hearts desire! HAPPY SHOPPING my SHOPPINGERA FRIENDS!!!

One thing is for sure, every trip to ORLANDO is fresh and exciting- ORLANDO is indeed THE VACATION CAPITAL OF THE WORLD.

WE HAVE YET TO TRY:

1. WET N WILD
2. DISNEY’S WATER PARKS
3. CIRQUE DE SOLEIL
4. BLUE MAN GROUP
5. HELI TOUR
6. AQUATICA
7. DISCOVERY COVE
8. GATOR ISLAND
9. SKY DIVING
10. DINNER SHOWS (There’s a lot more)

These are just some of our priorities but the list could go on and on. I kid you not! That’s how AMAZING it is in ORLANDO. You can experience almost anything your hearts desire. So I don’t think I would get tired of going back to Orlando. I just wish it was closer.

Whether you are on a trip to Orlando with someone special or with your family, you will unquestionably hit upon something enjoyable and interesting in this amazing place. The place has a lot of things to offer to the tourists, whether they are of 3 or 93. People of all ages can enjoy this place to their fullest.

Let’s not forget DISNEYWORLD and SEAWORLD. I think these two deserves another post. So Long Folks!!!

Here goes my AJ again!

AJ fell off from her chair. It happened so fast. I don’t know what she was doing because I was busy prepping our dinner when all of a sudden she said:

AJ: I’m okay! I’m Okay! (Then she starts laughing)

Then I saw her standing from the carpet

MOM: AJ, Are you ok?

AJ: I’m fine! (Still laughing)

MOM: What are you doing? Are you trying to catch some fish? (Can’t help myself and start laughing out loud too… I know I shouldn’t have laugh but she’s laughing, so I figured she’s ok and I’m glad.)

AJ: Yeah! I’m trying to catch some fish and I’m saving it for dinner. Here Mom, CATCH! (Pretending to throw the fish)

Silly Girl! She is so funny! I can’t help myself but laugh with her even more.

Humirit na naman si Kulit!

My Alexis Jade "AJ"

AJ: Mom is it okay to give someone a cake on their birthday?
Mom: Yeah! You can give them a card, balloons or a book especially if that person loves books.
AJ: So If somebody has a DRY SKIN I can give them LOTION or how about a perfume?
Mom: NYAHAHA!!! Are you saying if you gave someone a perfume? Does it mean they stink? (Me laughing again)
AJ: No! I didn’t say that.

UNBELIEVABLE!!! Nyahahaha...

The Bottom Line
Be more conservative with your money, today. Avoid making any significant purchases.
In Detail
Be more conservative with your money, today. Avoid making any significant purchases, at least for a couple of days. Everything might look do-able right now in terms of your budget, but there are hidden costs that you don't know about yet. Being safe instead of sorry is always a better choice, especially where your wallet is concerned. If need be, you should distract yourself from shopping by running some errands or doing simple chores around the house
HAHAHA--- I just read my horoscope and I find it so funny! I just met up with my very good friend/kumare Chat for a coffee/shopping date *Wink* I was trying to get a hold of myself not to spend since I just made a big damage during our trip but who am I kidding? Sales are everywhere! Tsk! I purchased 3 Havianas pair of slippers. I couldn’t resist and since it was on sale why not, right!? So I said to myself “just this one”. I should have just gone home with Chat and killed time there but heck I decided to stay for a while and browsed…Ugh!!! Not a good idea because I did made a lot more damage. I bought 2 sunglasses and 3 shirts. (Gosh it’s not like I could wear the sunglass at the same time and didn’t I just got a new CD sunglass 2 weeks ago? Me…talking to myself… SORRY) Hoping that the hubs weren’t home yet since he told me he’ll be working half day in the office. Ugh!!! To my dismay, he was home already when I got home. Ughh!!! You gotta be kidding me! Oh, man! Where am I going to stash this away now? Hahaha--- Oh well! He saw the shopping bags and asked how much damage I made? So what would you have done if you were in my shoes? I just smiled and gave him a kiss. The hubs was like…Oh no! Don’t answer me with your kiss! Tsk! My hubs, he’s so funny!... I love you LABS! There you go my HOROSCOPE OF THE DAY!!! I just hope there will be no hidden charges coming from nowhere. Ahihi...

ALL ABOUT CRUISING....FUN IN BAHAMAS!!!

I remember the first one we had and it was with the CARNIVAL FASCINATION. It was actually a test for AJ to see if she was going to like it. Well you know the answer. She loved every minute of it. It was so funny. After that cruise, she started planning what to do on her next cruise. NO KIDDING!

A cruise is a great opportunity to simply relax and rejuvenate. The best part is well being PAMPERED. And there are actually a lot of things to do while you are on board. (BESIDES EATING!) I kid you not! Isn’t it great when you don’t have to worry about anything? What is there to worry? The Best Chef is on board; somebody will take care of your room. All you have to do is EAT. SLEEP. PLAY. EXPLORE. SHOP. RELAX and be MERRY.

With all the wonderful glorious food the CHEFS has to offer. Oh Boy! You will be in FOOD HEAVEN. Do indulge yourself in good food at sea. For those who are on a diet, you don’t have to worry; they have something special just for you. You can even make a special request to your hearts desire. Isn’t that just Wonderful!

They also have great entertainment. I especially love the one for grown-ups called
“ADULT COMEDY”. Oh gosh this is just hilarious! This kind of show never fails to make me laugh! Hubs and I enjoyed the freedom we can get since we couldn’t do this if AJ was around. We also got to try our luck in the Casino. We actually won $1.00 this time –haha- because the last time we lost $60.00. (My hubs and I are not gamblers. We just do this for fun.). We also got to play Bingo. Hope to win next time though! Nyahaha!
We just simply enjoy each others company. (You know how you can get onto each others nerve sometimes)This is the best time to just feel the moments and have the best time of your life. (I know we did!)

Let’s face it being a Mom or Dad can be so rewarding but it sucks to be one sometimes. (Admit it!) So my hubs and I took advantage of what the cruise has to offer. We made sure we escaped once in a while, go out and involve ourselves not related to being a parent. I guess every parent needs a time out too. A very good one I might add. Wink! Don’t yah worry. Kids have their own world? Enjoying and savoring every chance they can get. You want proof? Our AJ being the chatterbox that she is with her non-stop stories about her new friends and the fun activities she did. She would tell you how she’s looking forward for the next day. Haha. That’s how excited and outgoing she is. That’s how confident we are that our little angel is in good hands.

Do consider booking a room w/an Ocean view or better yet a Balcony room. AJ and I love hanging out there (Ocean View). Paying for a room with a window is worth it.

Let me just say, Cruising is truly remarkable! The beautiful places you get to see and explore are BREATHTAKING! Ladies, when the sun goes down and the energy rises, nothing says “VACATION” like getting all dolled up at night to start the party and dance through the night with you very own Prince Charming then Shop the next day -HAHA- Don't forget to taste the popular drink in Bahamas called COCO LOCO. It's so GOOD!!! Tell me if that’s not FUN and I don’t know what is.

CRUISING IS SURPRISINGLY REASONABLE. You just have to plan ahead and plan accordingly. It is always good to have something to look forward too. Right! We are not rich people. Just like everybody else we scuffle from day to day, but we figure LIFE IS TOO SHORT- Why not ENJOY IT!

When 2 becomes 1 (la la la la la la laah)

A GOOD MARRIAGE IS LIKE A CASSEROLE, ONLY THOSE INVOLVED ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT GOES INTO IT.

Let’s face it, not every one of us is lucky to end up with our prince charming. But in my case I would like to think I am….. But it’s a damn lot of work I tell you! I also have to deal with his male PMS every so often. Ehehe…If you think they don’t have one. Think Again! (Don’t start rolling your eyes on me, I didn’t ask you to read this, if you happen to have a problem with that, just leave now, ok!) Don’t tell me I didn’t warn you!

Who said men shouldn’t do their share of household chores? Any man who raises their hands, is such a loser hahaha… you are either a coward or insecure of your manliness. Pa MACHO effect! NO SHIT! I believe it takes two to make all parts of a marriage work, including FINANCES and the DÉCOR.

In our household, hubs and I share with the household chores and I don’t see him less of a man when he does something women should do. Dear hubs knows I hate ironing clothes with a passion. Hubs don’t mind ironing the clothes as long as he’s in front of the TV watching his favorite show. He’s actually better than me because I have the tendency to rush it. AND he takes all his time that sometimes I would end up finishing what he had started because he’s too slow. (Sobrang Bagal! GOSH!) Hehe.. I LOVE YOU, LABS! Muah!!!

The other thing that I love about my Hubs is he’s such a great cook. I have to admit that my husband cook better than I and can bake real well too. Although it drives me crazy when he’s in the kitchen and I cringe every time I see the mess and just couldn’t help myself but sigh! Well there’s always a downside to every situation, I guess! And this is just one of them. Nyahaha

It’s been a while since dear hubs cooked his special SISIG. My taste buds would always dance in delight. Haha ang arte noh! But it’s true, it is always good. He never fails my expectation/cravings. The other one that I like that he cooks is the SQUID with just Tomatoes and Onion. Oh so Yummy! Just thinking of this, my mouth waters like hell! He’s other specialty is the Sizzling BELLY BANGUS! I can’t wait for him to cook us this! He promises me sometime next week when he gets all the ingredients he needed. I just hope it’s sooner! Tamang parinig eh noh! Hope he read this! Ehehe.

KUDOS to my Mother-in-law! Galing ng training nya! Thanks MA!!! Ahihi!

Oh! One more thing I have nothing but praises for dear HUBS devotion to our sweet little angel AJ. SEE I TOLD YOU I’M ONE OF THE CHOSEN FEW! *WINK* HAHAHA!!! BLEH!!!
Ang kumontra pangit!

OH MY BROTHER! WHERE ARE YOU?

At home…
When she was about to go to sleep after she prayed

AJ: Mom, I’ve been praying and praying for a little brother. When is God going to give me my brother?
Mom: I don’t know. You have to pray harder, babe.
AJ: I am! Can you please help me pray, Mom?

Hay! How can I tell her, we’re not ready for another one. Not just yet? Poor little girl!
**************************************************************
We were inside a Family Restroom (It has two rooms for your comfort and it has a separate washing area, changing nappies for babies and it has chairs for some nursing moms.) No one was there when we got in but when we got out, there was this Mom with 2 kids, an older girl and a baby boy. She was changing the baby while AJ and I washed our hands when AJ asked me this:

AJ: Mom, when can I have my baby brother?
Mom: Um!!! (I was lost for words)

The other mom LAUGHED OUT LOUD! Hahaha!!! I know right! Geez si AJ talaga….NAKAKALOKA!

***************************************************************
At home

AJ: You know what Mom?
Mom: What AJ?
AJ: I’m going to name my brother JERICHO and will call him ECHO.
Huwatt again? – hahaha- You don’t even have a brother yet, babe! Geez luis!

***************************************************************
She desperately wants to have a baby brother. Hahaha…obvious ba?

AJ NEVER FAILS TO AMAZE ME

I was playing SUPER MARIO for the Nintendo DS and I couldn’t get out of one of the stages in there.

Mommy: Ugh!!! This is so FRUSTRATING!
AJ: YOU KNOW WHAT MOM?
Mommy: What?
AJ: When you’re frustrated. This is what you do.
Mommy: Huh! What do I have to do?
AJ: STOP. TAKE A DEEP BREATH, and THINK!

Mommy: Yeah! You’re right! Where did you learn that?
AJ: You know, Joe from BLUES CLUES.

Hahaha….
*****************************************************

FAT Daddy’s RESTAURANT

We frequently eat at this place. We eat here at least once a week and mostly on Fridays or Saturday. When AJ learned that we were going to eat there again, she was like…

AJ: Are we going to eat there again?
Mommy: Yeah!
AJ: I’m so SICK and TIRED of eating there Mom. How about we eat Chinese?
Mommy: Are you kidding me! We just ate there. No! We’re going to eat at Fat Daddy’s
AJ: UGHHHH!!!!

*******************************************************

Or when I play my favorite music inside the car over and over again… I was playing my favorite song I KISS THE GIRL by Katie Perry when all of a sudden…

AJ: OH NO! Not again! Why do you keep playing that music? It’s so ANNOYING!
Mommy: I happen to love this song.
AJ: ANNOYING!

TSK! TSK! TSK! WHERE DID MY SWEET AJ GO? She has turned into something….ahihi…

**********************************************************

One afternoon while I was still asleep…..

AJ: Mommy, You’re tummy is GROWLING. Let’s go downstairs. Your TUMMY is hungry. YOUR TUMMY SAID SO! Wakey, wakey, SLEEPY HEAD!

******************************************************************

TO CHEER UP DADDY

I pinched Daddy’s ear and he pretended he was hurt and started crying...

Daddy: Hu hu hu.... Mommy hurt me.
AJ: Mommy, why did you hurt Daddy? Look! He's crying now.
Mommy: Go give Daddy a BIG KISS and a BIG HUG.
She went to give her Dad a big kiss and the big hug. AWWWW...how sweet....then all of a sudden she was dancing silly... so I was like...
Mommy: AJ, what are you doing?
AJ: I was just doing the MONKEY DANCE to CHEER UP DAD.

Ang sweet nya di ba?

**********************************************************

While eating PIZZA

We ate pizza for dinner one time and it was Domino's Philly Cheese steak Pizza, I was so hungry, I ate 3 big slices right away, I forgot to give AJ her drink.

AJ: Mommy, WERE YOU SO HUNGRY THAT YOU FORGOT MY DRINK?
(para bang sinasabi ng anak ko na sobra ang takaw ko, ano ho?)
Nalokah akoH....Geeez

************************************************************

Just out of the blue she blurted this……

AJ: Mom, you’re too BOSSY!
Mommy: What? How am I bossy?
AJ: Because you keep on telling me WHAT TO DO. HMPPP!!!

I’m like HUWATTT????????

--- The Best Gift Ever ---

A young man was getting ready to graduate from college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted. As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car.

Finally, on the morning of his graduation his father called him into his private study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box. Curious, but somewhat disappointed, the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible, with the young man's name embossed in gold.

Angrily, he raised his voice to his father and said, "With all your money you give me a Bible?" And stormed out of the house, leaving the Bible.

Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business. He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his father was very old and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not seen him since that graduation day. Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He needed to come home immediately and take care of things. When he arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart.

He began to search through his father's important papers and saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. His father had carefully underlined a verse, Matt 7:11, "And if ye, being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Heavenly father which is in heaven, give to those who ask Him?" As he read those words, a car key dropped from the back of the Bible. It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words... PAID IN FULL.

How many times do we miss God's blessing because they are not packaged as we expected? I trust you enjoyed this. Pass it on to others. Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; but remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for...

PLS. SEND THIS TO AT LEAST FIVE (5) PEOPLE SO AS TO LET THIS GREAT LESSON FLOW AROUND.

TO ALL THE FATHERS, RELAX AND ENJOY!

With the oil price increase everyone is affected dramatically. But I think there are more than enough ways for most of us to cut back on luxuries and still be able to survive just fine despite the high gas prices. Here are just some tips:

When you go grocery shopping go for sales and then stock up for future use, especially the ones that you use or eat all the times. Sometimes my husband wonders what the heck those are for. He feels like I’m panic buying ha-ha… little did he know I’m helping with the budget, although, he thinks of me as the greatest spender of the family.

Just stocked up on Bath and Body products since they’re having their semi annual sale right now. Great for future gifts to teachers, friends, co workers or just anyone. There is always something for everyone. Don’t you worry they wont expire soon. Yeah, I asked.

Skip the waiting lines at Outback Steakhouse and the Cheesecake Factory. How about we stay home to eat and challenge ourselves to cook food that is less than 10 dollars but still feels like you dined out. Just like my favorite cook Rachel Ray, would call it “Fake outs”. Nice isn’t it. Okay! Maybe once or thrice a month you can indulge lets say it’s a treat for working hard.

If you’re like me who loves Starbucks, make a few trips less to Starbucks every week and make coffee at home that should be enough to make up the difference. Don’t ya’h Agree?

Drive less and enjoy walking and car pooling with friends would be good ideas.

Being frugal is one thing, but being cheap is entirely something different entirely.
Vacations are our privilege for working hard and SAVING money to take a special family time. I don’t know about you, but since its Father’s Day, I think Daddy deserves a wonderful treat. So we’re off to Virginia for a Father’s Day Weekend Getaway. TO ALL THE FATHERS, RELAX AND ENJOY! HAPPY FATHER’S DAY TO MY DAD AND TO MY LABS AND TO ALL THE FATHERS OUT THERE!

What IRRITATES ME!

So here are the things that irks me:

1. When people leave their shopping carts in the parking lot when in fact they know that there is a proper place for them and its just 10 feet away. Arrrrghhh!
2. People driving on the left lane but super duper slow! Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! If cursing could kill. I could’ve been convicted as a Murderer.
3. People who doesn’t know how to use their right and left signal while changing lanes. Gosh! I don’t know how many times I have used my horn because of this SHIT! People are just IGNORANT sometimes.
4. When people put a dent or big scratch on someone’s car intentionally or unintentionally! Does the word BE EXTRA CAREFUL ring a bell? Shucks! People can be just so insensitive. How annoying is that? Hello!
5. A person who turns their volume too loud while driving. What is wrong with these people? Are they deaf? What the heck!
6. HYPOCRITE PEOPLE who flash smiles in their faces and say good things about you in your presence but then talk SHIT behind your back once you’re gone.
7. People who gives you a call only when they need something. USER!
8. When people expect something back for the help they gave out. Never expect to get anything back. A simple Thank You is enough. Case closed!
9. People who IMPOSE!
10. When people don’t flush their FREAKING SHIT! DUGYOT BIG TIME! I really don’t understand this people! Yuck! ARRRgghhh!

I guess Im just tired of other people's never-ending bullshit huh. What do you think? I may not be the nicest person on earth but please COURTESY to others for goodness sake.

Tsk...tsk...tsk....

I was trying my luck with the SINGSTAR for the PS3 while Alvin was trying to figure something out. AJ was bored out of her wits. She’s been waiting for an hour to play tennis with her Daddy so out of boredom she’s been jumping, dancing hula, singing, shouting and laughing so loud that it annoys Dad. On the other hand, I kept pushing Dad because I wanted to sit where he was sitting. So he was like:

Dad: You both are ANNOYING!
Mom: Of course not! We’re your angels, Dad.
AJ: Yeah! We’re your angels, Dad.
Dad: Angels? Angels my A-S-S (didn’t say the word ass but spelled it A S S) He was kidding though. Thinking AJ wouldn’t get it. Wrong! She doesn’t know what it means yet I think she just put it together. We’ve been trying to teach her to read.
AJ: Ass…Ass….

I looked at Dadyy… Hayan pa A-S-S ka pa kasi dyan. Tingnan mo tuloy. Tsk…tsk…tsk…bad Daddy!

Mom: Just one more and then it’s your turn ok, AJ.
AJ: UGH!!! YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!!!

FUN SATURDAY with a GIRLFRIEND!

THE WAIT IS FINALLY OVER!!!

Went to see the movie “Sex and the City” with my girlfriend, Cindy. Seeing the girls together again was so worth the wait. The connection that these women have as friends has really touched me. I so love CARRIE, CHARLOTTE, SAMANTHA AND MIRANDA! Talk about the shoes, the bags, the jewelries, and the clothes especially of the one that Carrie was wearing on the opening of the movie. I love it! She is Amazing! She never fails to put a smile on my face with her sense of fashion. It makes me want to buy the LV bag in the movie. Hay! What a roller coaster ride of emotions though. This is also a fabulous tribute to friendship, I think! So go see it with your girlfriends. I highly recommend it. (Boyfriends and husbands can come too. They might learn a thing or two if you know what I mean. Wink!)

SEX IN THE CITY! A must see!

TOO MANY BAGS?

AJ and I were watching a show called CLEANHOUSE. In this episode they had a garage sale where they sold stuff to earn money towards decorating whatever room they wanted to revamp. Out of the blue she said out loud “Mommy, lets sell your bags! You have too many bags.” So I asked her, “why do I have to sell my bags” and “Bakit ba pinapakialaman mo ang mga bag ko?” Her response was this: “Rachel might not have anymore bags. We have to SHARE it. Ang dami dami mo kasing bag, eh!” (By the way, Rachel is the daughter of a good neighbor and a godmother of AJ. She’s 14 for crying out loud.) She likes Rachel so much that she wanted to be like her in any way she can. For your info, AJ is only 5. Geez! I was amused!

AJ loves MOMMY, but LOVES DADDY the BEST!

WHAT MAKES MY HEART SING!

When my dear AJ says these:

Mommy, you have great taste.
Mommy, you cook the best food.
Mommy, you’re so pretty!
Mommy, you're my favorite Mom in the world. You're so COOL!
Mommy, you’re the BEST!
See! I’m simply the best at least in the eyes of my child. I love you AJ! MUAH!!

WHAT MAKES DADDY’S HEART SING!

When my dear AJ says:
I love you better than Mommy!

So cheers to you my Beloved Sis and my Dearest MOM for doing such a wonderful job. Take all the pampering you can get because you deserve it. IT’S GOING TO BE A GREAT DAY TOMORROW. SO GO OUT AND CELEBRATE! I LOVE YOU BOTH!

She's so darn CUTE!!!

AJ's favorite line ever since she came back from our vacation was this .......

"Hala! Ano ba? Ang kulit naman eh!" She's so darn cute! She speaks tagalog so well, mind you. Hopefully, she'll be able to keep up with her tagalog twang. I'm proud to say that she was able to learn to speak Tagalog in the span of 3 months. So we will try to keep talking Tagalog so she wont forget. KEEP IT UP AJ!
